Two Chicks and a Hippie

MENU | 117 Navajo Trail Dr #9033 Pagosa Springs, CO 81147

It’s a tough choice between Two Chicks and Hippie and Rose’s Cafe for diner-style breakfast food, but Two Chicks and Hippie’s smothered breakfast burrito and fresh bakery puts it over the edge for us!

During summer they also play live music and the patio is dog-friendly!

They are open from 630am-2pm daily and you’ll want to get here early as this is a local favorite in town.

If for some reason not everyone in your party loves breakfast, they also have a great lunch menu with sandwiches, wraps, and an incredible Gyro.

I personally love “The Local” with roasted green chiles and grilled onions.

The fries are perfectly crispy, and the portions are generous. The green chile fries are also a fan favorite if you want to try something different.

If you’re craving Thai food you will be thoroughly impressed with the flavors of Thai Pagosa.

The menu has all the standard selections that will take you right back to being on those lively streets of Bangkok with flavors bursting in every bite!

The restaurant is a local favorite and gets packed very quickly (as most of the local favorites in town do) so if you’re going for dinner get there early or we recommend lunchtime when it never seems to be crowded.

What to Order:

  • Pad See Eew: similar to Pad Thai but with the wider-style noodles

  • Red Curry: as is or add the roasted duck if you really want to try something new

  • Thai Fresh Roll: the peanut sauce is incredible

Riff Raff Brewing

MENU | 274 Pagosa St. Pagosa Springs, CO 81147

Riff Raff Brewing is our favorite brewery in town! If you’re looking for the best brewery and food combo, Riff Raff is a must-visit.

They have a great selection of drafts as well as some fun cocktails that are definitely poured heavily.

The burgers are phenomenal! The beef and bison are grass-fed and local from Chama, and the lamb burger… let’s just say it’s in a league of its own.

We also love the nachos, specifically the redneck nachos if you like a loaded style.

During warmer months you can also catch live music from the patio to enjoy the incredible food, brews, and people-watching since you’re right in downtown Pagosa Springs.

There are two dog-friendly tables on the patio as well, but this place does fill up fast during prime eating hours.

What to Eat:

  • Burger: from the grass-fed Tibetan bison burger or the juiciest lamb burger, any burger you get here is amazing

  • Redneck Nachos: the name says it all

  • Flagship Beer: our favorites are the America Honey and Stepchild American Red

Dinner/Happy Hour

Rosie’s Pizza

MENU | 100 Country Center Dr. Pagosa Springs, CO 81147

Rosie’s is exactly what you would expect from a mountain town pizza joint. The patio fence is made of skis and the winter sports are on the TV. Grab a pint at the bar and warm your belly with a GIANT slice of pizza or a full pie for the family.

The homemade dough is the star of the show. The pizza crust is the perfect combination of fluffy and crispy. Don’t skip out on the garlic knots (regular or stuffed with cheese).

The knots, slices, and beer are all discounted during happy hour. Locals love Rosie’s, so expect a wait if you are showing up after 5:00.

What to Eat:

  • Single Slice: customizable slices from a 24” pizza

  • Stuffed Garlic Knots: perfect, bite-sized cheesy goodness

  • Lasagna

Happy Hour:

  • M-F (3pm-6pm): rotating discounts on food and drinks

Alley House Grille

MENU | 214 Pagosa St. Pagosa Springs, CO 81147

From those celebrating a special occasion and want a fine dining experience to anyone just looking for a classier bar to sit at during happy hour, Alley House Grille has a great ambiance with food cooked to perfection.

This restaurant is uniquely split into two different styles with the bar being in the center. One half of the restaurant is catered toward a fine dining experience with white tablecloths, a cozy fireplace, and a rustic mountain setting. The other half of the restaurant is modern and open with a larger bar area.

If you’re coming for the fine-dining, a reservation is recommended and make sure you order one of their extremely tender steaks.

If you want to enjoy the incredible happy hour, you’ll have to grab a seat at the bar or fireplace area, and we highly recommend asking the bartender to make you something special and pair it with any of their mouth-watering pizzas.

  • Appetizer: Crispy Pork Belly

  • Entree: The BST Pizza (Garlic Cream, Bacon, Spinach, Tomato, Mozzarella)

  • Entree: Char Grilled Ribeye and Shrimp

Chavolos Mexican Restaurant

MENU | 301 N Pagosa Blvd b2 Pagosa Springs, CO 81147

Heads up all you Tex-Mex lovin’ Texans, this is hands-down the best mexican restaurant in Pagosa Springs. The food is fresh, authentic, and even has an amazing house made cream sauce for all us queso addicts.

Even better is Chavolos is open 7 days a week (unlike most restaurants in town) and they have great customer service.

This local joint fills up fast during dinner time so make sure to get there early. You can’t go wrong with any of their dishes but we love the juicy and tender chicken or carnitas. Pair your dish with one of their house margaritas and you’ll become a weekly regular as well.

What to Eat at Chavolos:

  • Enchilada Suizas

  • Chimichanga topped with house cream sauce

  • Carnitas Nachos

Happy Hour:

  • M-F (3-5pm): any beer $3.25 and house margarita is $7.50

Kip’s Grill

MENU | 121 Pagosa Street Pagosa Springs, CO

Who doesn’t love tacos and a beer after a day on the mountain? Kip’s has my favorite tacos in Colorado. They make their tortillas in house, and all of their filling options are flavorful and juicy.

If you are looking for a vegetarian option, their roasted green chiles (stuffed with cheese) are fantastic. The spicy chiles pair perfectly with a cold beer.

While the service at most restaurants in Pagosa Springs is slower than what you might be used to, the food at Kip’s comes out quick. The inside has limited seating, but they have a nice patio open in the summer where you can also find live music!

What to Eat:

  • Chile Verde Con Queso: our favorite queso in town

  • Tacos: we especially love The Pilewski Tacos

Happy Hour: Everyday 3pm-6pm (drinks only)
