30 RV Camper Accessories (You Really Need)

If you’re looking to upgrade your camping trip this year, these are the best camper accessories on the market!

After sharing our RV storage hacks and new RV essentials, now we’re listing our favorite RV accessories that will be sure to make camping even more enjoyable!

Must-Have Camper Accessories

After living in our RV for 4 years we’ve narrowed it down to our most-used RV Accessories from the indoors to outdoors.

1) Shoe Storage

The one thing almost all campers are missing is somewhere to keep your shoes up and out of the way.

These shoe racks are convenient and easy to install. They fit one pair of any size shoe or boot.

They are mounted with a really strong adhesive that has never fallen off in 2+ years.

2) Clear Storage Bins

Organization is key in living in a tiny space and these clear storage bins are a must-have camper accessory.

The tall sides are key to keeping cups from falling over in your cabinets or food from moving around in your fridge. We also use them in the pantry to group together cans, snacks, and sauces.

Additionally, they work perfectly to organize under the bathroom sink.

3) Wireless Motion Lights

RV camper accessories

These motion lights have been a game changer for us when moving throughout the RV in the middle of the night.

I have them under the steps (inside and outside), in the bathroom, and in our deep pantry.

The automatic light really helps make sure I’m not bumping into anything at night with the tight space without giving off too much light.

4) Clip-on Wireless Fans

The benefits from having this small and mighty clip-on fan are endless. It’s the perfect size fan for an RV where it can still make a difference without taking up too much space.

It’s wireless and the battery can last 12-65 hours depending on the fan speed. It also a remote control.

We use this fan everyday in the summer to help keep the RV cool and every night to provide a settle white noise for better sleep.

5) Portable Mini Vacuum

A broom just doesn’t cut it when you’re used to a vacuum. We this mini vacuum (pictured) in our smaller camper since it only weighs a pound and barely takes up any room.

The mini vacuum picks up everything on the hardwood and is nice for getting in between the cracks and seats of the cab.

In our fifth wheel, since we have more space to clean and to store things, I love having this cordless stick vacuum to pick up more at once and it works better on carpet.

6) RV Vent Insulator

rv must haves for summer

One of the best camper accessories that I think everyone should own is this simple yet effective roof vent insulator.

You can use it for winter to keep the cold air out and flip it over during summer to reflect the sun’s UV rays and keep the RV cooler.

7) Air Fryer

I have yet to find a stock RV oven that actually works well. Save yourself the headache and just buy the air fryer!

It cooks chicken, veggies, and even cinnamon rolls to perfection without heating up your RV like the oven. It’s also much faster.

We run on solar 99% of the time and even our 400 watts of AGM batteries in the van can easily handle 20 min of air frying.

I would recommend only buying an air fryer that uses 1500 watts so you aren’t maxing out your inverter and/or electrical system.

8) Electric Cooktop

RV-accessories

Once again, we love using electricity over propane because it’s cheaper and quicker.

We heard induction cooktops can pull a lot of power and since we run off solar, we opted for the NuWave that allows you to choose how many watts you want to pull and the specific temperature.

Now, we use the induction cooktop mostly over the propane stove.

Make sure you have a compatible frying pan for the induction cooktop.

9) Slim Fridge Water Filter

rv accessories for inside

Even though you probably filter your water before going in your RV, it is nice to have cold water on demand and being able to double filter drinking water.

This slim pitcher actually fits in the door of the standard 8 cu ft RV fridge and still has a capacity to hold 7 cups!

10) Collapsible Dish Rack

RV accessory for kitchen

Every RV needs a small, collapsible dish rack. They are simple yet effective and help keep the counter organized.

The nice thing about this rack is it collapses down fairly thin so you can store it away and it has an adjustable drain strip at the bottom so water doesn’t stand inside the rack.

11) Command Hooks

The uses for command hooks are infinite in an RV! Get the clear hooks so they aren’t a sore sight and the ones rated for 2+ lbs so they don’t fall off the wall.

Ideas for the hooks:

  • Hand and shower towels

  • Hanging artwork

  • Coat hook

  • Hook for string lights

12)Hanging Closet Organizer

RV accessory indoors

Some RVs have more hanging storage space than what you actually need. This hanging organizer acts as a dresser and the added lip on each shelf helps keep items from falling out during travel.

There are options for a 3, 4, or 5 shelf organizer depending on your needs. This is also great storage for any extra towels, blankets, and sheets.

13) Mattress Topper

RV accessories for bedroom

If your mattress is a little too stiff for you, I highly recommend trying out this 2” memory foam mattress topper.

After reading the highly-rated reviews from RVers on Amazon, I bought this myself. I usually hate mattress toppers but I didn’t want to buy another mattress and I’m so glad I took the chance!

This topper has made it so I don’t have back or hip pain while sleeping.

14) Wireless Light Bulbs

We added these wall sconces to our bedroom and used a wireless, battery-powered light bulbs since we didn’t have anywhere to hardwire the light fixtures.

We absolutely love having reading lights at night and they give the RV a more homey feel now.

15) Coat Rack/ Art Work

best RV accessory

This coat rack is the perfect piece of RV artwork that doubles as a coat rack. It comes in a few different finishes and a 3 or 5-hook version.

We even put one in our tiny van because we still need somewhere to hang jackets, a purse, the dog leash, and beach towels.

16) TV Firestick

No need to hook up to the RV park cables to watch TV, just plug the Firestick in your TVs HDMI outlet and download all your favorite streaming apps to the Firestick.

Most TV service providers have an app now and it comes stock with the major streaming networks like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+.

17) TV Adapter

If you’re ever without WiFi or just have bad WiFi at the campground but still want to watch TV or movies on your TV make sure you know this hack.

The pictured adapter is specifically for iPhone users. All you need is this little adapter plugged into your iPhone and then an HDMI cord to plug into your TV.

It will project whatever app you use to watch TV or download movies on your phone almost perfectly and you can do it over your cell service vs the WiFi. We download Netflix shows to our iPad/iPhone if we are going to be out of service and use this adapter to watch them on the TV.

18) High-Pressure RV Shower Head

If your RV shower head has terrible pressure or doesn’t have an on/off button, this is a great replacement shower head.

It’s a really simple and quick swap and you’ll be wondering why you didn’t change the shower head sooner.

19) Black Tank Deodorizer

best camper accessories

These $10 packets are better than the liquid bottle and they make a difference!

After a fresh dump of the black tank, toss in one deodorizer pack and a gallon of water down the toilet. This will help break down fecal matter quicker while it’s sitting in the black tank and reduce the odor drastically.

20) Antimicrobial Toilet Seat

Switching out our RV toilet seat for this antimicrobial one has done wonders for the smell of our bathroom.

There is also a fresh scent pod you can change out every 3 months and the toilet lid is a soft close lid so no more loud slams in the middle of the night.

21) Level Mate Pro

I would argue this leveling device is more of an essential over a luxury RV accessory, because it has become a necessity when we move our rig.

You easily mount the small device in the middle of your rig and then downloaded the app where you can see on your phone exactly how unlevel your RV is from side to side and front to back.

You don’t even have to get out of your RV or truck. This small, yet genius invention has made moving day so much easier!

22) Anderson Blocks

AndersonBlocks_black.png

If you’re tired of how destroyed your square orange blocks are after using them under your RV wheel to level, then try Anderson Blocks.

They’re much stronger, easier to get under your tire and adjust for the perfect height.

The blocks act as a ramp for your wheels to raise one side of your rig from 0.5 inches to 4 inches.

These Anderson Blocks also come with a set of wheel chocks to secure your wheels and rig from rolling off on its own.

If you have auto-leveling on your rig you won’t need these blocks.

23) RV Hoses Storage

camper accessories

Another simple, yet underestimated RV accessory is this set of RV hose storage bags. As you know there is never enough space in the underbelly of the RV and these bags just help keep you organized.

24) PVC Entry Mat

These entry mats made of PVC and rubber are magical! They somehow collect so much dirt and dust from your shoes and, more importantly, trap it in the mat until you shake it out.

I don’t know how it works so well, but it’s incredible!

25) RV Step Covers

A simple upgrade I wish I did sooner was to add this carpet to our RV steps. Especially in winter, it makes the biggest difference so you aren’t slipping on ice as soon as you step outside your door.

These covers attach very easily and can withstand rain, wind, snow, and hail.

26) Entry Step Stabilizer

If you don’t have the bigger steps that touch the ground, you probably don’t have as stable as an entry.

A step stabilizer is great at reinforcing your RV steps and making sure they don’t wobble every time you walk in or out of your camper.

27) Luci String Lights

fun RV accessories

I’m here to firmly say, there is not a better lightweight, simple, and efficient set of solar string lights on the market.

All the other string lights become a tangled mess but the Luci lights easily string back together in their convenient little hub that is also the solar charger.

There is an 18’ and 44’ cord version and they charge very efficiently by the sun or even quicker if you have a USB cord and electricity.

There are 3 light settings and we never even use the highest setting because it is very bright. The dimmest setting provides the perfect evening ambiance for a beverage by the fire.

28) GCI Rocking Camp Chair

best RV accessories 2023

This is the most comfortable camping chair for the size and it’s so much easier to setup than a standard camping chair in a bag.

The rocking function is a lot nicer than you may think and this is always the first chair taken around the campfire.

The GCI rockers come in a few versions, but the Freestyle and Roadtrip Rocker are the best selling.

29) Jumpstart + Air Compressor

RV accessory outdoors

You really should have your own battery jump starter and tire inflator if you’re RVing.

It’s not only nice to be self-sufficient, but a lot of time you may be down a dirt road where no one else can help you.

This is the more heavy duty jump starter that works on up to 9L Gas/8L Diesel Engines. We can also air up our truck tires to 75 PSI with this tool.

30) Hitch Lock

fifth-wheel-hitch-lock_400.jpg

If you have a fifth wheel or travel trailer, I strongly suggest getting a hitch lock. It takes less a minute to attach to your hitch and gives you peace of mind. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

If you have a travel trailer, use this link to work with a 2” coupler.

31) Maps App for RVs

The TruckMap app was made for truckers, but we used it consistently while traveling across the country in our fifth wheel.

You can set your length and height and it will route you to avoid any low clearance bridges or roads.
